Starting Point of Wellbeing offers guidance on matters related to well-being and study ability. You can meet with study psychologists, study counselors, special educators, Aalto chaplains, and career counselors without an appointment – check the drop-in guidance times on the website and come for a chat!
Courses, workshops and self-study materials for students
Here you'll find information on our groups, workshops and online material for wellbeing, study skills and coping. The pages are administered by the Starting Point of Wellbeing. The groups and workshops are conducted in Finnish or English.
Personal Impact course offering 2024-2025
Personal Impact brings to light already existing courses in Aalto University on values and meaningfulness, self-leadership, societal impact, human potential and well-being. Courses boost your skills of self-leadership, leadership and personal development. Check the list of courses.
Mind & Study - toolbox for being well in studies (3cr) in the second period
Do you want to improve your study wellbeing and skills using peer support and researched information? After taking this course, you will recognize the factors that affect your own ability to study and your wellbeing, and you will understand the importance of those in terms of meaningfully smooth studying. In addition, you will learn skills with which you can achieve study goals, which are meaningful to you, without sacrificing your own wellbeing.
Back on track –workshop series in October
Aalto's study psychologists and a guidance counsellor are organizing a two-time peer support workshop series for students who are returning to their studies after a longer break or who have studied very little during the past year. The Best Thing Today podcast series by Aalto University’s psychologists
The Best Thing Today is a podcast series hosted by the psychologists at Aalto University Learning Services. In the podcast, the psychologists casually talk about wellbeing topics – ranging from student wellbeing to the wellbeing of employees.
During the academic year, the Finnish Student Healthcare Service (FSHS) organizes preventive and treatment groups both remotely and at the service units. In a group you can get support for your health and life management. See more information about groups and read more about FSHS's services .
Nyyti ry. is an organisation that focuses on mental health work for students. Check out activities and services that Nyyti provides in English.

Founded in 2025, KiePe – Network for Language Centre Pedagogy, Teaching and Research – will broaden the range of language courses available to students at universities in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The KiePe network, composed of the University of Helsinki, Aalto University, the University of the Arts Helsinki, and Hanken School of Economics, will offer their students the chance to take elective language courses at any of the network universities in the future.Students will be able register for courses via the cross-institutional studies service (RIPA) from autumn 2026. By autumn 2028, the study paths of the network universities will be harmonised to some extent, which will make cross-institutional studies even easier.
Students wishing to take language courses outside their home university can register for language courses offered by the network universities through the cross-institutional studies service and view the course offerings on the universities’ websites. More detailed information about the course offering and registration practices will be provided in August 2026.
