1808 new undergraduate students admitted to Aalto University – congratulations!

Results of the joint application for higher education have been published in the Studyinfo service.

Admission results of the joint application to Finnish/Swedish degree programmes for Aalto University have been published on 6 July 2021 in the Studyinfo service. The applicants can check their admission results by logging into the My Studyinfo service at .

More than 12 200 applicants applied to Aalto University’s study options in Finnish and Swedish during the application period that ended in late March out of which 1772 were selected. 1290 applicants were accepted to the field of science and technology, 124 to the field of art and design and 358 to the field of business and economics. In addition, through a separate application for the Open University track, 34 students were accepted to study business and economics in the Otaniemi Âé¶¹´«Ã½ and two in the Mikkeli Âé¶¹´«Ã½.

This year, the most popular study option was the undergraduate programme in the field of business and economics. In the field of science and technology the most popular study options were Computer Science (tietotekniikka), Machine and Building Technology (kone- ja rakennustekniikka) and Industrial Engineering (tuotantotalous), each of which had over a thousand applicants. In the field of art and design the most popular study options were Visual Communication Design (visuaalisen viestinnän muotoilu) and Art Education (kuvataidekasvatus).

Despite the second spring of exception, all of you applicants have managed to adapt, among other things, to the various entrance examination arrangements, and I want to give a big thank you to all our applicants for your endurance and persistence during this time. Congratulations on your success!’, says Petri Suomala, Vice President of Education at Aalto University.

Some applicants have been admitted based on their studies in the Aalto University Open University. Open university tracks are available for specific study options in the fields of technology and business and economics. The registration for the open university tracks is open year-round.

Altogether 85 applicants applied to Aalto University in the transfer application process. The most popular study option in the transfer application process was in the field of business and economics. The results of the transfer application process will be published by 9 July 2021 at the latest.

The national Studyinfo service grants each admitted applicant one study place. The Studyinfo placing procedure covers all joint applications to universities and universities of applied sciences, and it will end on 2 August 2021.
