There are several decision making and advisory bodies related to education and learning at the School of Electrical Engineering.

Academic Affairs Committee

The school's academic affairs committee decides on the curricula and degree requirements specific to the school, selection criteria and other academic-related matters.

Degree programme committees

Every degree programme has a programme committee. On the Bachelor level there is one and on the Master’s level three committees. Committees put forward proposals to the Academic Affairs Committee regarding the syllabi of the degree programmes, decide on the instructors of the bachelor’s thesis seminars, as well as on the instructors and supervisors of master’s theses and grade the master’s theses. The committees also decide on the programme development, quality assurance, and feedback process and integration into the programme development work.

Education Management Team

The Education management team acts as an advisory body and supports the dean and the vice dean for education in their decision-making. Its purpose is to improve the quality of teaching, promote the management and development of teaching at various levels of the school’s activities as well as to promote cooperation with various actors and stakeholders.

Quality of Education Committee

The Quality of Education Committee (QEC; OpLaa in Finnish) strives to develop and evaluate teaching and develop tutoring. The committee assesses the teaching competence of candidates in career tracks during recruitment.  The QEC also organises Opekahvit-events that deal with current issues in teaching development, which are open to all members of the staff.
