The recommended timetable helps you progress in your studies according to the target timeline and to create a personal study plan (HOPS).
Remember to register for each course in Sisu-system.

Course registration time at the Department of Film
Fall Semester 2026 (Periods 1 and 2):
Registration Time: Monday, July 27, 2026 – Monday, August 17, 2026
For first-year students the registration deadline is 4 days before the start of the 1. period, Thursday, August 27, 2026.
Spring Semester 2027 (Periods 3-5):
Registration Time: Monday, November 16, 2026 – Monday, December 7, 2026
Students absent during the fall semester can register for courses via email during the registration period. Registrations should be sent to both the responsible course teacher and to studentservices@aalto.fi.
General Instructions:
- Ensure that you register for all courses within the registration period. Registering on time increases your chances of securing a place in your desired courses.
- You can check the recommended timetable to determine which courses you should register for. If you don’t know which courses you should register for, please contact your academic advisor in May.
- Notice! These registration times apply only to the courses of the Department of Film. For joint courses, such as those offered by ARTS, registration takes place before the start of the periods.
