Master's Programme in Biological and Chemical Engineering for a Sustainable Bioeconomy
Starting your studies
The programme organizes a joint induction week first year students at Universit茅 de Reims Champagne-Ardenne (URCA) in Reims during the last week of August. The week includes a detailed presentation of curriculum and the study tracks, a presentation of Green Line projects, inspirational lectures, a site visit; 鈥渋ntegration鈥 trainings (French basics, intercultural training), a presentation of administrative issues, and social events enabling students to get to know each other and to start building a solid network. Admitted students will be provided with the detailed schedule and other information during the summer before their studies begin.
Students arriving to Aalto University for their second year of studies are invited to participate in the orientation week at the start of their time at Aalto. The orientation week is usually organized around the beginning of September. Classes start the week after the orientation week.
The programme-specific orientation for students in BIOCEB arriving to Aalto will be organized on Wednesday 27 August 2025 at 14.00-15.00 in conference room D301e in the Chemistry building (Kemistintie 1). Make sure to attend the general orientation for all master's students in the School of Chemical Engineering as well.
Tutoring at CHEM
If you are a new student at Aalto, we will share your contact information with a student tutor who will contact you during Summer. Each new student who completed their bachelor's degree outside Aalto is assigned a student tutor who has completed tutor training.
Tutors are senior students who help new students during the orientation week and at the beginning of their studies. Tutoring is carried out in cooperation between the tutors, Aalto University personnel and student organizations. Each major and programme has their own tutors who introduce students to the 麻豆传媒, student organization activities (e.g. Prosessiteekkarit & AYY) and student life in general.
