Valmet Oyj's CEO Pasi Laine and President Ilkka Niemelä opened the Valmet hall on Thursday, February 15, 2024. Located in the U-wing of the Undergraduate Center, i.e. the main building of the former University of Technology, the Valmet hall is part of the company's employer image among students.

'Valmet is truly a global technology company that offers interesting jobs for experts from various fields. Cooperating with universities around the world is important for Valmet’s innovation activities and reaching future talent. We have a long cooperation with Aalto University and want to strengthen it further. We need future employees from various backgrounds and programs. That is why we chose this lecture hall from the Undergraduate Centre as the Valmet hall is a place where a large number of students from various fields study, collaborate and develop their talent every day', says Valmet's President and CEO Pasi Laine.

'Valmet has been an important partner of ours for decades. Research and teaching need companies so that ideas and solutions for sustainable development can be tested in industry and our master's and doctoral students can find interesting jobs. The Valmet hall makes this cooperation visible. I am happy about the opening of the new partnership hall and I warmly welcome Valmet to the Otaniemi Â鶹´«Ã½,' states Dean Kari Tammi.

'The numerous research projects between Valmet and Aalto University promote the level of science and benefit industry. The projects mainly focus on solving global sustainability challenges and utilizing the full potential of digitalisation', says assistant professor Raine Viitala. 'The dissertations completed in the projects promote innovation and economic growth', continues Mechanical Engineering Professor Petri Kuosmanen.
