What is Aalto Executive DBA – Doctor of Business Administration program?
The Aalto Executive DBA is a structured program in Business Administration for experienced individuals with considerable managerial experience wishing to contribute to the development of their professional competence and their key areas of interest. The program has both business relevance and academic rigor and focuses on the relevance to the employer and the professional development of the candidate. The DBA research project – finalized in a publicly defended DBA dissertation – typically has strong linkages to business and managerial practice.
Several leading business schools, such as Harvard Business School, offer DBA programs. Equivalent to Aalto Executive MBA and Aalto MBA degree programs, DBA Program is not part of the official Finnish education system. However, the degree is given by the accredited Aalto University School of Business.
Studies take three to six years with a flexible part-time study structure. The tuition fee based program started in the beginning of 2013.
