The CQE funding to Sillanpää, Hakonen and Paraoanu
The Centre for Quantum Engineering funding was awarded to a project that aims at utilising quantum effects in real-world applications. Professor Mika Sillanpää, Professor Pertti Hakonen and Doctor Sorin Paraoanu, all from Aalto School of Science received 150 000 euro to their project on Quantum-enhanced measurements and metrology (QMETRO).
- This project will allow us to push a number of our proof-of-concept technologies towards real applications, and open new experimental areas in sensitive detection of signals, the researchers say.
The funding decision, based on the results of three external reviewers and the recommendations of the CQE Scientific Board, was made by the Director of the Centre for Quantum Engineering, Prof. Christian Flindt on 27 June, 2016.
