The additional application period for the Master's Programme in Computer, Communication and Information Sciences (CCIS) taught in English applies to the six major subjects in the programme, namely the Acoustics and Audio Technology, Communications Engineering, Computer Science, Security and Mobile Computing; Signal, Speech and Language Processing and Software and Service Engineering.

The CCIS Master's degree programme with versatile focus on computer science and engineering is one of Aalto University's most popular programmes. There is still room for a few motivated students in the second application round.

The CCIS Master鈥檚 programme is intended for prospective students that already know the basics of computer science and/or communications engineering and who wish to become experts on these fields.

'There is a particularly high demand for computer security professionals in IT. Finland has several companies operating in the field, and many companies also want to raise their awareness of hyper security. Thus, the career prospects are great,' says Professor Petri Vuorimaa, the head of the CCIS programme.

'Standardisation of the 5th generation mobile communication systems is about to start. All the major telecom and chip makers have presence in the market Finland and they are seeking more communications and networking technology experts,鈥 says Professor Riku J盲ntti, the vice head of CCIS programme.

The CCIS Master's programme is a joint programme of Aalto University's School of Science and School of Electrical Engineering. The admission decisions will be published on 8 June at the latest, and the students get to start in the programme already in the following autumn.
