Product Design Gala shows prototypes, solutions and team spirit

Accomplishments of the interdisciplinary Product Design Project course are on show again in Otaniemi. This year we have a training robot for dogs, fishing lure of tomorrow and many others exciting projects.
PdP Gala 2019

Student teams from Aalto University and our partner universities have been working hard for the last 9 months, to complete their design challenges given by industrial companies and other collaborating parties. In the public exhibition, you will have a chance to hear about the teams’ accomplishments and process, as well as to get familiar with the people themselves together with their amazing prototypes.

Examples of projects:

  • Training robot for dogs
  • Implementing augmented reality to welding masks will improve working conditions and quality.
  • Solution that enables tracking the location and depth of a diver wirelessly.
  • Prototype of a fishing lure that functions in alternating environmental conditions.

This year the teams are sponsored by such companies as Aalto Industries, Future Memory Care (FMC), Haapaniemen Tietotekniikka, KavoKerr, KONE, Nose Academy, Omnia AI Lab, Pexraytech, Rapala, Saab, Trenox and Wärtsilä.
