The Aalto University Board was formed in a meeting held on 4 January 2019. Mikko Kosonen, Ph.D. (Econ), President of Sitra was appointed Chair of the Board and Susanna Pettersson, Ph.D., Director General of Nationalmuseum Sweden, was appointed Vice Chair. Mikko Kosonen has been the Vice Chair and a member of the university’s Board since 2016.

‘Aalto University has already achieved many of its high expectations. It has evolved over the past ten years into an internationally successful, multidisciplinary university with innovation at the heart of everything it does. This gives us a great starting point for the next stage of the university’s development, which is marked by the grand challenges posed by the megatrends of the world, and the ever-growing global competition for talent and expertise. Finland and Aalto University have all the prerequisites for being a pioneer for a sustainable and renewable knowledge society,’ says Mikko Kosonen.
