Miia Mäkelä has been appointed as Associate Professor at the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems
D.Sc. (Microbiology) Miia Mäkelä has been appointed as tenured Associate Professor at the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems as of 1 September 2024. The field of the professorship is Enzyme Technology.
Mäkelä received her doctorate from University of Helsinki in 2009. After her defence, she has worked as a researcher at Westerdijk Fungal Biodiversity Institute in Netherlands and at University of Helsinki. Most recently she has been working as University Researcher at University of Helsinki.
