Max Ovaska's film Carrier makes it to Student Academy Awards finals

This is the first time a Finnish film competes in the 48 year history of the awards.

A BA film from Aalto University, ELO Film School Finland, CARRIER (Lasti), directed by Max Ovaska, has been selected as one of the 7 narrative finalists in the Student Academy Awards. This is the first time a Finnish film competes in their 48 year history.

Synopsis:

Janika takes advantage of her pregnancy by smuggling amphetamine from Tallinn to Helsinki with her brother. Being pregnant, she gets to skip through customs control. Hooked on the feeling of importance she gets from her new job, Janika decides to smuggle one more time despite her contractions having started. On their way home the siblings get in trouble, and a race against time begins.
