Matti Niinimäki nominated as the Artisan of the Year
Niinimäki represents the maker culture which is a contemporary subculture representing a technology-based extension of DIY culture.
Media artist Matti Niinimäki was nominated as the Artisan of the Year by the Craft museum of Finland. The museum nominates every year someone that they feel highlights modern artisanship or somehow approaches the idea from a fresh perspective.
Niinimäki is a teacher and a student at the School of Arts, Design and Architecture.
