Do you find networking difficult? Ever frozen at a careers fair? Unsure how to connect at academic or industry events?

This hands-on workshop is designed for doctoral students and researchers who find professional networking genuinely uncomfortable. No forced small talk, just skills that actually work.

Why it matters?

Whether you stay in academia or move into industry, networking is one of the most in-demand skills across every career path. Employers and collaborators will look for it.

What you’ll learn

  • The 10 steps to connect: A simple, repeatable framework you can use from the moment you walk into an event to the moment you leave.
  • Master the room: Read the energy, find the right connections, and turn every situation to your advantage.
  • Break the ice and navigate the mismatch: Start conversations naturally and handle awkward moments with confidence.

Who should attend?

Doctoral students and researchers who want practical, confidence-building skills to engage with academia and industry more naturally and effectively.
