FITech is a network of Finnish universities of technology. Through the joint FITech ICT project, the network has offered more than 60,000 ECTS credits’ worth of free university studies to adult learners and degree students in Finland. The aim of the project has been to address the national shortage of ICT professionals and skills by offering university courses to those interested in the field. The FITech ICT project, launched in 2019, will conclude in the summer of 2026.

The network's collaboration continues in other FITech projects

Cooperation within the FITech network is ongoing, and activities will continue through other FITech projects. Several other projects are ongoing at the moment, and new initiatives and forms of collaboration are continuously being developed. FITech offers free courses in the themes of ICT and digitalisation, sustainability and energy transition, leadership and organisational development, and science and engineering skills. In addition, the FITech network is running projects to develop university education.

FITech's course offering will change as the project ends

As the FITech ICT project concludes, there will be changes to FITech’s course offering and schedules during spring and summer 2026. Some of the current ICT courses will no longer be available through FITech, while others will continue under other FITech projects. Courses that will no longer be available through FITech will continue to be available, for example, through open universities.

Course-specific information, such as availability, application deadline, final completion date, and final deadline for claiming study credits, will be updated on each course’s own FITech page as the information becomes confirmed. See the information on the course’s FITech page or directly with the university organising the course.

The changes apply to ICT-related scheduled courses, MOOC courses and continuously ongoing courses offered via FITech. Please note that for some ICT-related MOOCs and continuously ongoing courses, the application period will end as early as March 2026.

How to proceed

  • If you are applying for a FITech course: Before applying, check the course’s application deadline and availability on the course page on FITech’s website.
  • If you have already enrolled: Check the course’s final completion date and deadline for claiming study credits on the course page and follow any schedule updates.

Please note that the dates may still change.

If you have any questions, contact the FITech team by email: info(at)fitech.io.
