Ensto has made a donation to support education in the field of arts and design at Aalto University in the framework of the matched-funding scheme. The government's promise of matched-funding significantly adds to the impact of donations made to the university.

‘Ensto's new strategy highlights creativity, which we want to channel into the innovative research and development of new and more intelligent solutions together with customers and partners. The creativity, user-experience understanding and high standard design education represented by Aalto University's School of Arts, Design and Architecture are important for the reform and competitiveness of industry throughout Finland and thus for us as well. For this reason, we want to support the school,’ Ensto's CEO Ari Virtanen explains.

'A high level of expertise in design can facilitate the design of customer-friendly products, services and business concepts, which take into consideration the development of the markets, the possibilities provided by new technologies and other competitive factors. Creativity forms part of this school’s core. We are pleased that Ensto feels it is important to support high quality education and research in the field in Finland. I believe that in the future, we will find interesting projects to co-operate on,' says Turkka Keinonen, Head of the Department of Design.

Multidisciplinary co-operation within Aalto University will be even more seamless when the School of Arts, Design and Architecture moves all its activities to Otaniemi in summer 2018.
