EgoCure at Loikka Festival and XR Encounters coming up
The film EgoCure is part of a research project to study conventions of virtual reality filmmaking, and creating tools for shooting high quality cinematic VR. The film makes first steps with enactive cinema, exploring interactivity that supports the story.
Loikka Festival program showcases works from 360° narratives to social VR. The festival is open daily 5–8 April at Annantalo, Annankatu 30.

Are you interested in virtual and augmented reality? Want to dive deeper in immersive storytelling? Like to meet other enthusiasts? Join us for the next XR Encounters on 4 May at 4–6 pm. at Studio Kipsari Cafe Backstage, Otakaari 7.
XR Encounters is an open networking session for developers, content creators, students and professionals. There will also be an open mic session hosted, where you will have an opportunity to present your project idea in five minutes and find future collaborators.
The discussion will range among various topics related to extended realities. What is the current status of the XR ecosystem? What are immersive experiences really about? And what would you like to experience in virtual spaces yourself?
XR Encounters are organized a few times a year by Aalto Learning Centre's VR Hub and ELO's VirtualCinemaLab. Snacks are on the house. Registrate .
