Deloitte to sponsor a lecture hall in Otaniemi

Deloitte is the first company to sponsor a lecture hall in the Undergraduate Centre at Otakaari 1.
The Deloitte lecture hall is the very first one that has ever been sponsored at the entire Otaniemi Â鶹´«Ã½.

For a considerable time, the School of Business has provided companies and associations the opportunity to sponsor a lecture hall named after them at the Töölö Â鶹´«Ã½. Since the autumn of 2015, it has also been possible to sponsor a lecture hall at the Otaniemi Â鶹´«Ã½. Deloitte is the first company to sponsor a lecture hall in the Undergraduate Centre at Otakaari 1.

A sponsored lecture hall is, above all, a way to support students and teaching by contributing towards the quality and comfort of teaching premises. At the same time, it is a visible part of creating an image of a company as an employer among the students.

The agreement now made with Deloitte at the beginning of 2016 is historic in that this lecture hall is also the very first one that has ever been sponsored at the entire Otaniemi Â鶹´«Ã½. The sponsored lecture hall in Otaniemi is part of a broad-based Premium Partner agreement between Deloitte and the School of Business.

’It is great that, at the Otaniemi Â鶹´«Ã½, they have invested a lot in facilities in which it is possible to meet other people during the day and work together. I believe that our own lecture hall will also offer the students and Deloitte a possibility to meet each other during the daily studies. You often meet experts of different fields around our Otaniemi lecture hall, just like you do at Deloitte’s offices. We want to maintain a discussion with the future managers and look forward to meeting people in the café and in our lecture hall,’ says Tomi Pitkänen, CEO at Deloitte.

The Deloitte lecture hall is located on the first floor of the Undergraduate Centre next door to the Elissa café. During this spring, Deloitte will bring some of their own brand elements to the hall.

‘The Deloitte community across the world summarised our common goal, the purpose of our existence, the following way last year: we carry out work that has a significant impact on our clients, us all and our society. This is apparent in our day-to-day work and will also be visible in our lecture hall in Otaniemi before the spring. At the same time we will challenge the students to discuss effectiveness with us,’ says Anne Alarotu, Marketing and Communications Leader at Deloitte.

From now on it is possible for companies to reserve a sponsored lecture hall in Otaniemi as well as in Töölö or even in both.

’We are extremely happy and excited to have our first sponsored lecture hall partner also in Otaniemi now! We would like to wish Deloitte a warm welcome to the new School of Business Â鶹´«Ã½,’ says Dean of the School of Business Ingmar Björkman.
