Art and design at Aalto ranked 17th in university comparison

In the QS ranking also three other Aalto University subjects placed in the top 100.

QS World University Rankings by Subject 2016 were published on 22 March. Aalto University was ranked as the 17th best university in the world in the subject of Art & Design.

Aalto University placed between 51 and 100 in the subjects of Architecture/Built Environment, Business & Management Studies, and Materials Science. Aalto placed between 101 and 150 in the following subjects: Accounting & Finance, Computer Science & Information Systems and Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Ranked between 151 and 200 were the subjects Chemical Engineering, Civil & Structural Engineering, Mathematics and Economics & Econometrics.

The QS rankings by subject emphasise both the university's reputation in the world of academia and among employers, as well as research publications and references that they get. The significance of these factors is subject-based.

The QS World University Rankings also compares universities as a whole, and this ranking is published in the autumn. on this list. In the QS faculty ranking Aalto’s Engineering & Technology placed 133.
