The grant committee for the Aalto University’s Fabian ja Jaakko Ahvenainen Fund announces grants that will be admitted in recognition of the studies completed either in the field of bridge engineering or in the field of structural engineering and building physics or as support for postgraduate studies in these fields. The grants range from 2000 euros to 6000 euros. The grants and their values will depend on the number of applicants and the level of applicant’s studies.

Grant criteria

Eligible grant applicants include persons who recently completed their master’s or postgraduate degrees at Aalto University as well as master's degree students and post-graduate students at the School of Engineering at Aalto University and familiarized with bridge engineering, structural engineering or building physics in their studies.

  1. The applicant's specialization in bridge engineering, structural engineering or building physics
  2. The applicant's academic performance
  3. The applicant's contact information (name, email address and telephone number).
  4. The applicant is asked to mention in the application whether the emphasis of applicant’s studies has been on “bridge engineering” or “structural engineering and building physics”.
  5. The application must also include the titles of the thesis and the names of the thesis's supervisors.
