Academy of Finland awards seven new projects to the Department of Applied Physics

Grants exceed 3.3 million euros for research in a diversity of physics topics.

Head of Department Prof. Matti Kaivola announced the awards this week in Otaniemi, funding that makes a significant contribution to the department's capacity to promote quality, diverse research with impacts in both scientific fields and beyond academia -- exactly the purpose of the funding scheme.

According to the Academy of Finland, the aim of project grants is to 'attain internationally as high a scientific standard of work as possible and to support scientific breakthroughs and top-tier international research collaboration.' These projects will be implemented September 2018-August 2022.
