Aalto University's team won the Nordic NCPC programming competition in the student category

Over 210 teams, including 134 student teams, participated in Nordic Collegiate Programming Contest.

, was held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 in twenty locations across the Nordic countries. Over 210 teams participated, including 134 student teams. Aalto University had 8 teams in the competition. 

- consisting of Henrik Aalto, Elias Simojoki, and Valtteri Aurela - won the student team category and placed second overall; the overall competition was won by the team from the University of Copenhagen. The NCPC competition is held annually, and the top student teams from the competition will continue to the NWERC competition (Northwestern Europe Regional Contest) in November, with the best teams advancing to compete for the title of the best team in Europe and the world (ICPC Europe Championships and ICPC World Finals). 

Aalto University offers the course every fall, where students learn algorithmic problem-solving and practice for programming competitions. Also, later this fall, there will be the programming competition sponsored by HIIT, open to all those interested in programming, including corporate teams and university staff.
