Aalto University participates in a major event involving 2 000 circular economy influencers
Organised by Sitra, the World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF2019) brings approximately 2 000 global influencers of the circular economy to Helsinki. Aalto University participates in the circular economy forum’s main event in the Expo area of Finlandia Hall, presenting the latest research results on the circular economy of batteries, design enabling the recycling of textiles, management of large circular economy systems, and the design of wood structures that enable deconstruction and reuse.
The WCEF2019 speakers include, among others, World Bank’s Vice President for Sustainable Development Laura Tuck, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank Emma Navarro, and Director-General for Environment at the European Commission Daniel Calleja.
On 5 June, Aalto University also organises a WCEF2019 side event open for all in Otaniemi, where top experts from Finland and around the world talk about the circular economy as an enabler of sustainable development as well as new business.
