Aalto has placed well in the US News ranking

Computer Science, Economics and Business, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Space Science and Engineering made it to the top 100 in the world.

Aalto University was ranked among the top 100 in six subjects included in the US News Global Universities rankings. Computer Science rose to 33rd in the world from last year’s 43rd place. Economics and Business rose to 50th place; last year this ranking was 55.

Civil Engineering together with Electrical and Electronic Engineering were ranked as individual subjects for the first time in the US News ranking, and they ranked 52 and 78, respectively. They are both included in the broader field of Engineering, where Aalto rose to 91st place (last year 99).

Space Science also improved its position and came in 79th (last year 96). The Physics subject is nearing the top 100 as it rose to 105th place from last year’s 222nd.

The US News also lists universities as a whole, and Aalto rose there as well to place 186 from last year’s 253rd place. The top university, according to this ranking is Harvard University in the US.

The US News ranking is based on bibliometric data and reputation surveys provided by Clarivate Analytics' Web of Science and InCites analysis tools.
