Aalto continued with excellent performance in ShanghaiRankings

Ten subjects rank in the top one hundred worldwide.
ShanghaiRankings by subject 2020, Aalto is 24th in the world in Business Administration

Aalto University again performance well in the respected ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. Altogether 4 subjects rank in the top 50 worldwide, and Business Administration and Management both climbing up the rankings. Marine/Ocean Engineering returned in the top 50, since it was last ranked in 2017 (39th).

The fields that ranked in the top 50 at Aalto were: Business Administration ranked 24th (last year 29th), Management ranked 27th (32th), Telecommunication Engineering ranked 34th (22nd) and Marine/Ocean Engineering ranked 35th (new entry).

Several other fields at Aalto also ranked in the top 100: Computer Science, Library and Information Science (ranked 51-75), Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Remote Sensing, Mining and Mineral Engineering and Transportation Science and Technology (ranked 76-100).

The annual ShanghaiRankings, first released in 2009, evaluate universities in 54 subjects across the natural sciences, engineering, as well as life, medical and social sciences. The rankings do not assess subjects related to art and design. In total, over 4000 universities were evaluated in 2020.
