AAC decides on the regulations on credit transfer
The aim is to enhance the equal treatment of students and to simplify the process whereby learning gained elsewhere is recognised and identified.
The amendments concern the Aalto University General Regulations on Teaching and Studying (OOS, section 36), which state the key principles of credit transfer. After their entry into force, any prior studies or learning demonstrated in some other manner that is counted towards a degree will be graded Pass/Fail, with the exception of studies associated with Aalto joint or double degree programmes or teaching arranged in collaboration with another Finnish university or university of applied sciences.
A separate working group will continue to prepare more detailed instructions on credit transfer according to the regulations decided. At the same time, an online form will be developed to make the application process easier for students.
The new guidelines and the instructions of the vice president (education) will enter into force on 1 August 2018.
