Our sustainability research includes the development of new sustainable materials – especially fibres - research on product-service systems for sustainability, sustainable consumption and research on sustainability transitions.

The sustainable design research is closely connected with the , Fashion/Textiles Futures and INUSE research groups as well as the Creative Sustainability Master’s programme.

Donations from ABB, Fortum, St1 and the Walter Ahlström Foundation will be used to establish new professorships. At the same time, the donations support the establishment of Aalto University House of Energy Transition.
