MMD pre-Xmas event 2021
The pre-Xmas event of the Multifunctional Materials Design research group took place on the 24th of November in the cozy space of Otaranta rooftop sauna with a great view over Laajalahti bay.
The event was a great way to acknowledge our group's achievements in 2021 and to discuss future plans and goals. Apart from the official part, the programme of the event included table games, baking of Finnish Christmas pastry (piparkakku/gingerbread & joulutorttu), screening of videos, and Xmas/New Year music playlists. The hot sauna was available for all participants during the event.
One of the highlights of the evening was a video competition for which our group members had been encouraged in advance to create videos about 'a good/bad day of a researcher'. Winners of the competition were Pedro Silva, Maryam Mousavi and Hamidreza Daghigh Shirazi. The second prize was awarded to the video by Jaana Vapaavuori and Maija Vaara.
