Changes in incentive scholarships for doctoral students
A decision has been made regarding the incentive scholarships which will be awarded according to the set criteria for doctoral students who have met the conditions for receiving a scholarship during 1 January 2022 – 31 December 2025.
Aalto University Bioinnovation Center opens a call for five doctoral candidate positions  
Bioinnovation Center is looking for talented and exceptionally motivated students that are eager to pursue their doctoral studies in a multidisciplinary environment aiming at biobased material innovation. Students with any background that fits to one of the five projects described below are encouraged to submit their application.  
Nokia Foundation grants professor Yrjö Neuvo a recognition award for achievements in development of postgraduate education
Yrjö Neuvo has done remarkable work in developing the postgraduate education and helping newly graduated doctors to become employed in Finnish companies and corporations.
6th National Doctoral Education Day on 24 November 2021
The sixth Finnish national doctoral education day is organised on Âé¶¹´«Ã½ at Aalto University. The event consists of one key-note lecture and three panel discussions ranging from the topics of sense of community in doctoral studies to international doctoral graduates in working life in Finland and pursuing a doctoral degree in Finland. Full funding will be offered for 10-12 doctoral candidates for 4 years in the fields of sustainable textiles and/or packaging solutions. All Aalto University professors can apply for the funding.

Aalto is launching a new initiative to support doctoral students by establishing a pool of ombudspersons. Ombudspersons are voluntary professors with solid experience in academic practices who the doctoral students can contact confidentially in challenges related to the thesis work.
