The transition to cloud mail has progressed well. The mailboxes of Aalto's staff and degree students (in excess of 26,000 accounts) have been moved to the cloud.
Large number of Aalto IDs locked due to a denial of service attack
The bug is being fixed, and it seems  that the lockout would have ended at 4pm. Locked IDs open automatically after 15 minutes.
Print services at Aalto back online
Secureprint and printing directly to Canon devices are back online. Printing to legacy devices via printvm-legacy2 print server is back in use.
Unite! universities offer pedagogical training for Aalto faculty
The seven Unite! partners will offer a set of activities and training aimed at teaching staff (including Ph.D. students and postdocs involved with teaching), lecturers and faculty.

In accordance with the Recovery and Resilience Plan, the Academy of Finland and Business Finland are planning funding opportunities to promote the green and digital transition and to support partnerships. This year, the Academy of Finland and Business Finland will direct funding to key areas and technologies of the future that promote the green and digital transition. Additionally, the Academy will open a call for the development of local research infrastructures in 2022.

Revised degree regulations and OOS effective 1 August
When entering force, the new Degree Regulations for Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees will supersede the different regulations on bachelor’s and master's degrees that have existed previously at the school level. The Aalto University General Regulations on Teaching and Studying (OOS) as well as the Degree Regulations on Doctoral Education have also been updated.

Academy of Finland has published the call texts for the September 2021 call
The Academy of Finland has published the call texts for the upcoming September 2021 call. The calls open on 11 August. This year, the deadlines are staggered: the calls will close on 22 September (funding for Academy Research Fellows, Postdoctoral Researchers, Clinical Researchers and for international researcher mobility) or 29 September (Academy Project funding).
Access to RefWorks will end by 31 December 2021.
